my dad and i went to AC for the gambler's classic, which is an indoor three-quarter midget race on the floor of the "old" convention center. this is where the miss america pageant used to be held until 2004, and now it hosts minor league hockey (you can see the outline of the ice surface on the concrete), occasional college basketball, and annually, each january, this race.

A group portrait of Samuel M. Stone, Dwight G. Phelps and two unidentified men walking along a boardwalk. Stone is on the left carrying his coat, and Phelps is walking next to him. Samuel M. Stone started with Colt's as a salesman in 1905, rose to vice-president in 1916, and was President of Colt's from 1921 to 1944. Dwight G. Phelps was Vice President and Director of Colt's in the late 1940's.
